Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa AlKhalifa
ChairmanShaikh Ali bin Khalifa AlKhalifa joined the Bahrain Defense Force in June 1996 and currently holds the rank of Colonel; during his 24 year tenure he has held various positions within the organization.
Shaikh Ali graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University in the USA, earned his Master’s in Business Administration from DePaul Graduate programme at BIBF, Bahrain. He earned a Masters of Arts in Defense Studies from King’s College, London.
Shaikh Ali has been involved in a number of sports initiatives locally, regionally and internationally and has held various positions over the years. Some of them include: President of Bahrain Football Association, Member of Asian Football Association Executive Committee, Member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, President of Bahrain Cycling Association and a member of FIFA Competitions Committee.
He currently also serves as a Board Member of the Bahrain Telecommunication Company (Batelco) B.S.C. He was appointed as the Chairman of BNET’s Board of Directors at the 2020 Annual General Meeting, prior to that he was serving as the Deputy Chairman since June 2018.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohamed AlKhalifa
Board memberShaikh Salman bin Mohamed AlKhalifa currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Cybersecurity.
He graduated from Suffolk University from Boston Massachusetts, USA with a Double Major in Accounting & Information Technology. He has more than 20 years of experience as he began his career at the Central Informatics Organization (CIO) and has held various positions within the Authority including Network Engineer, Section Head of the Smart Card Initiative Project, Director General of IT, Deputy CEO operations and Governance; in addition to his tenure served at the Royal Court to set up the IT infrastructure.
Amongst his most spectacular achievements at the Authority include the execution of the New Government Data Network (GDN) project, on which High Speed MPLS resulted in linking all of Bahrain’s governmental agencies together, and the development of the National Identity Card using the Smartcard Technology.
Shaikh Salman also developed and implemented applications for several critical Government Organizations, which enabled the e-Government program to deliver e-Services through the National Portal – bahrain.bh – by linking the systems in various organizations. He also established the Government’s private cloud which is the foundation for the consolidation project in government agencies. Moreover, he is currently leading the Government of Bahrain’s technical team in migrating the Government’s IT services to AWS.
Shaikh Salman serves as a board member in Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). He was appointed as a BNET Board Member at the 2020 Annual General Meeting.
Dr. Daniel Ritz
Board memberDr. Ritz is currently the Management Board Spokesperson at WALTER GROUP, a Vienna-based, privately held conglomerate specializing in road freight, mobility solutions, leasing, and real estate.
Prior to joining WALTER GROUP in 2023, Dr. Ritz held leadership positions in the telecoms industry for 20 years, including CEO of Tele Columbus (Germany), CEO of PTCL (Pakistan), CSO of Etisalat Group (UAE), CSO of Swissom Group (Switzerland) and Chairman of the Chief Strategy Officer Group of GSMA. He began his professional career at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he rose to Partner & Managing Director. During his tenure in the telecoms industry, Dr. Ritz also held various Non-Executive Director positions at listed and privately-held companies, including Maroc Telecom (Morocco), PTCL (Pakistan), Thuraya (UAE), Fastweb (Italy) and BICS (Belgium).
Dr. Ritz earned a Master’s Degree and a Ph.D. in Business Administration, both from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and was a visiting Ph.D. student at Harvard Business School (USA)
Ahmad Mazhar
Board memberMr. Ahmad Mazhar is the Executive Director – Strategic Investments at Mumtalakat. He has over 15 years of experience in private equity with a strong track record in sourcing, executing, and managing portfolio companies across a diverse range of industries in MENA, Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Over the course of his career, he has worked closely with management teams and held key board positions across multiple organizations.
Prior to holding this role, Mr. Mazhar was a Managing Director at Helios Fairfax Partners (HFP), overseeing new investments and portfolio management for the Southern Africa region. He also served as an interim Chief Restructuring Officer of AFGRI Group, a portfolio company of HFP and one of the largest Agri services company in Southern Africa. He has also held various positions at several international organizations such as the Abraaj Group, Fairfax Africa Holdings and Emerging Capital Partners.
Mr. Mahzar holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, and a BEng in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Ahmed Jaber Aldoseri
Chief Executive OfficerMr. Ahmed Jaber Aldoseri is an ICT expert with over 25 years of experience and a specialization in cyber security and telecommunications, supported by an academic background in law.
He earned his BSc in Law with honors, which granted him dual specialization and allowed him to better champion all matters related to technology. Amongst his professional certifications are CISSP, CEH, ECSA, RHCE, and MCSE.
He is an international trainer and speaker who has also contributed to writing several of Bahrain’s digital laws and regulations. Mr. Aldoseri also received several awards for his cyber security work and has been published in several professional and academic journals.
Mr. Ahmed Aldoseri held several notable positions in the past including Acting Director General of Information Security and Radiocommunications at the Central Informatics Organization, Director of ICT and Cyber Safety at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Vice Chairman of Bahrain Internet Exchange, Independent Board Member of BNET, and Partner at Aldoseri Law among others. Prior to his current position, he provided advisory services to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Government on Cybersecurity matters and regulations.
Sh. Ebrahim bin Mohamed Al Khalifa
Chief Operating OfficerSh. Ebrahim Al Khalifa is an engineer with over 19 years of experience in information systems, business processes, and consultancy.
He holds an Applied Scientist degree in Engineering Management, an MSc in Engineering Management, and a BSc in Systems Analysis and Engineering.
Sh. Ebrahim Al Khalifa held a number of notable positions prior to his current role, including several responsibilities at the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Bahrain such as Director of Customer Services, Director of Central Stores, Consultant for Billing & Customer Care Systems and Acting Director of Information Systems.
Dr. Mohamed Tayeb Mahmood
Chief Technical OfficerDr. Mohammed Taib Mahmoud brings over 20 years of extensive experience in technical leadership, operations management, strategic planning, and consulting.
He holds a PhD from Brunel University London, a Master’s degree In Internet Technology from Aston University in the UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Bahrain. Additionally, he has earned numerous other professional certifications.
Dr. Mohammed has held a distinguished range of leadership positions, including Director of Infrastructure at BNET, where he played a vital role in strengthening the company’s technological foundation. He also held various leadership positions at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, including Director of Technology and Operations, Strategy and Projects Management Advisor, and Head of the Middle East at Envision Associates, London.
Donna Williams
Chief Financial OfficerMrs. Donna Williams is an Experienced Chartered Accountant with over nineteen years of experience in financial control, business partnering and cash flow management.
She earned her BSc in Mathematics with honors from The University of Manchester. Amongst her professional certifications are ACA/FCA from the Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales.
Mrs. Donna held several notable positions in the past covering Financial Control, Business Partnering and Cashflow Management. Prior to her current position at BNET she was a Group Financial Controller, Commercial & Marketing at BT (British Telecommunications) Enterprise, BT PLC.
Amal AlMannai
Director Talent Management & DevelopmentMrs. Amal AlMannai is a qualified human resources professional with an extensive background in the field. She holds a master’s degree in Business Management and Human Resources from the University of Malaysia, a B.Sc. in Social Services from the University of Bahrain, and a Diploma in Family Counseling from Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Youth Projects Support. Mrs. Amal is also a level-7 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualified professional.
Mrs. Amal held several notable positions prior to her current role, including Manager of Human Resources & Management in Telecommunication Regulatory Authority. In addition, she is a member in the Skills Bahrain Steering Committee chaired by Tamkeen, and a previous member in several notable committees within the telecommunications sector in the Kingdom including the Talent Development Joint Committee and the Committee for Skills Gap Analysis Studies.
Mrs. Amal successfully completed several trainings and qualifications such as the Excellence Strategy of Working Women in Business Management, the Culture Transformation Program from the University of Queensland Australia, Leadership Development, Strategy and Regulatory Modules from Bond University Australia and Successful Performance Management from London Management School. Mrs. Amal is licensed in family counseling from Mohamed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Foundation for Youth Projects Support.
Ahmed Alfadhel
Director Strategy & Corporate PerformanceMr. Ahmed Alfadhel is an expert in facilitating organizational strategic planning and implementation and has been with BNET since June 2019. His 17 years of experience has spanned across various sectors, mostly in regulation and financial stability.
Mr. Alfadhel holds an MBA from the University of Hull and a BA in Business Administration. Mr. Alfadhel is a Kaplan and Norton Strategy Execution Certified Graduate and holds several other professional certificates. He has also attended executive courses in strategy and finance In London Business School, University College London, and the IMF.
During his career at the Central Bank of Bahrain he was the superintendent of financial stability performing macro prudential analysis on banks, focusing on analyzing and assessing risks and Its Implication on financial stability. He was a member of the team that engaged with rating agencies and the IMF delegation to Bahrain as part of sovereign rating missions. In addition, he represented the Central Bank of Bahrain in the annual International Debt Issuance Roadshow, where he met and presented to investors across the GCC and East Asia.
Ammar Alaamer
Director Digital OperationsMr. Ammar Al-Amer has over 16 years of experience in the field of information technology, developing and designing technical solutions, and implementing IT governance and frameworks.
Mr. Alaamer holds a BSc in Computer Science and various professional certifications from Oracle and ISACA. Additionally, he contributed to various committees.
Prior to his current position, Al-Amer held several notable positions, including Head of Systems Development at the Information and e-Government Authority and other positions covering software design and IT management.
Michaela Lodlová
Director of Legal and Regulatory AffairsMrs. Michaela Lodlová has extensive experience in law and regulatory affairs spanning over fifteen years across a wide range of sectors including telecommunications and other regulated industries.
She earned her Post Graduate Diplomas in European Union Competition Law, from King’s College London. Her professional legal education includes Master of Law cum laude and a postgraduate diploma at the Law School of the Charles University as well as a Master of Political Science.
Mrs. Michaela held several notable positions formerly including Senior Regulatory Manager at Etisalat in the United Arab Emirates, External Competition and Regulatory Advisor at Slovak Telecom, Senior Associate, Competition and Regulatory, working with leading EU competition law practitioners at Covington & Burling LLP in Brussels, among others.
Prior to joining BNET she was a Legal Director at Wiggin LLP, responsible of managing complex legal & regulatory matters for global and large international clients.
Nouf Aldoseri
Director of Internal AuditMs. Nouf Aldoseri joined BNET in 2019, and currently holds the position of Head of Internal Audit. She has over 14 years of experience in internal audit, public accounting and auditing operations in private and public sectors in Bahrain.
Prior to joining BNET, Ms. Nouf worked at the National Audit Office where she managed a wide range of projects covering governance, internal control and risk management.
She holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), Bahrain, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State of New Hampshire Board of Accountancy, USA.
Ms. Nouf is a member in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Mariam Ahmed Al Rumaihi
Head of Corporate CommunicationsMs. Mariam Ahmed Alrumaihi has more than 7 years' experience in the field of Account Support Management, human resources, and corporate communications.
She holds bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the Royal University for Women, and several professional certificates, the most prominent of which is a specialized certificate in the field of Marketing from London School of Economics & Political Science, and a professional certificate in ‘Strategic Planning through Balanced scorecard’. She also completed the ‘Business Analytics Decision-making using Data’ Programme at Cambridge University. Ms. Mariam previously held the position of Culture & People Growth Manager, in addition to her position as Business Partner Manager at BNET.
