Bahrain Network (BNET), announces the launch of the final migration phase for Batelco fiber circuits

Manama, Bahrain: Bahrain Network (BNET), the national telecommunications infrastructure company, announced the launch of the final migration phase of the remaining Batelco fiber circuits to BNET, as part of the asset ownership transfer from “Batelco” to “BNET”.

This project is a key part of the implementation of the Fifth National Telecommunications Plan to contribute to achieving one of the most important strategic objectives of BNET, which is to be the Kingdom’s national provider of fiber-based connectivity, and to enable licensed operators to provide their telecommunications services to positively affect the end user by providing high-speed, secure, and reliable internet.

A joint project team has been formed from both separate entities, Batelco and BNET, with clear governance and mandate to manage, implement, and supervise the migration process of the remaining Batelco fiber circuits to BNET, with supervision from TRA. The project is expected to be concluded in the second half of 2023.

On this occasion, Mr. Ahmed Jaber Aldoseri, CEO of BNET, commented: “The national telecommunications infrastructure is a key attraction component of foreign investments and directly impacts the competitiveness of Bahrain internationally.
