BNET Obtains the International ISO 27001 certificate in Information Security Management for the Second Year in a Row

Manama, Bahrain: Bahrain Network (BNET), the national telecommunications infrastructure company, has obtained (ISO 27001 certificate) the international standard for information security management for the second year in a row, after successfully completing all requirements and obtaining official accreditation by Bureau Veritas accredited provider of ISO inspection, certification, and training services.

BNET’s obtaining a high level international certificate for the second year in a row is an affirmation of the quality and effectiveness of BNET’s information security management systems, as well as the enhancement the of governance and oversight, shedding light on BNET’s ongoing efforts and endeavors to enhance security frameworks by implementing security measures with internationally recognized standards, with the aim of managing customer data, protecting the national telecommunication infrastructure from cyber-attacks and adhering to maintaining Telecommunications Regulatory Authority regulations.

On this occasion, Mr. Ali Bushaqer, Senior Information Security Manager, commented: “It is with great pleasure that BNET team achieved another milestone for the second year in a row by obtaining this certification which reflects our ongoing efforts, and constant keenness towards strengthening the necessary organizational procedures to ensure the protection of information security and reduce the size of potential risks, by providing the systems, controls and focusing on governance, and integrating the culture of governance and risks to maintain our success and future growth.”
