In continuing the Kingdom’s high-ranking Internet speeds BNET Honoured for Accelerating Broadband Internet Speed in Bahrain
Manama, Bahrain: Bahrain Network (BNET), the national company responsible for providing fiber-based broadband network in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced that it has obtained a marketing claim for the second year from Ookla, specialized in Speedtest intelligence, for Accelerating Broadband Growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain by enhancing fiber optic speeds, during the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024) awards ceremony in Barcelona last week.
BNET received this marketing claim from Ookla, the global leader in broadband, mobile network testing and data analysis applications, as a tribute to its efforts in offering the best packages for internet speeds in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Through a comparison conducted from Q4 2023 to the same period in 2022, BNET showcased a median increase in local fiber network download speeds by 70%, an average download time equivalent to 1.70 minutes, in addition to a median increase in upload speeds by 51%, an average upload time equivalent to 1.51 minutes.
It is worth noting that this marketing claim is presented to the world’s leading telecom service providers after evaluating their performance and measures the download and upload speeds which is collected from user-initiated tests completed on Speedtest® by Ookla®. Network speed tests are performed exclusively from modern devices capable of connecting to the most advanced communication technologies available in the market.

It is worth noting that, in the past year, BNET was awarded by Ookla for accelerating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s broadband internet by increasing upload speeds by 206% and download speeds by 157%. The company provides wholesale services to more than 10 telecommunications companies in the Kingdom.
